I have been using these for a few years now in my PC & have now made the move to my car so I knew what to expect from them. Pound for pound cold cathode's are much more versatile than standard neon’s, the tube its self is only a couple of mm thick with a protective tube to stop them breaking making them excellent for those tight spots that you would never get a bulky old neon into & the inverter is separate to the tube allowing you to fit a 12” tube in the same area as a 10” neon. If u fancy a change of colour scheme, you don’t need to rip out the inverter and wiring… tubes are available separate to the kit, just disconnect the old tubes, and connect the new ones The only thing is u CANNOT/MUST NOT extend the cable between the inverter and the tube because the tube just won’t work, but having said that… you can still add more cable before the inverter! With an almost identical light output to a neon & 2 tubes in a kit, I haven’t bought a neon since I first saw these on the market a couple of years ago. Just don’t be tempted by the cheaper alternatives to the cold cathode’s, some are a lower cd/m2 output and some don’t have the protective sheath round the tubes (2mm diameter glass tube… look at em and they break!)

I've bought cathode lights off places like eBay before. Thing was they were cheap and not a patch on the brightness the one nequip sell. I'm very pleased with these and since May04 they are still very bright. Others i've bought else where eiter arrived smashed or didn't last 3weeks. Wasn't happy, BUT I'm a very happy neoquip shopper now. I'll be back for others stuff in Jan05. Thanks a million.
